Women in Sensors (WiSe) featured a panel discussion on diversity and inclusion in the tech work force at Sensors Converge 2021 moderated by Meeta Roy, enterprise technology chief of staff for Peloton Interactive.
Building mentorships in organizations is important, including encouraging women and minorities to work together on common concerns. “It’s a two-way street,” she said. “Make yourself available to anybody who has a need.”
Panelists on the session included Lina Colucci, founder and data scientist for Edge Analytics, Chrissy Meyer, partner at Root Ventures, a seed-stage hard tech VC firm and Karthi Gopalan, executive director of the mobile power business unit at Analog Devices, which recently integrated Maxim Integrated specialists.
Just 10% of partners in VCs are women, Meyer said, although some women are working together to “amplify each other’s voices in the VC community” through a group called All Raise.
Editor’s Note: The panel video and description were earlier included on Fierce Electronics in an Editor’s Corner from Sept. 28.
