Sensors Converge kicks off (and up) with Ingenuity; AI is on deck

Sensors are proliferating like never before in consumer and industrial settings, and the Sensors Converge event from Questex is back in action in San Jose, California, this week. Tuesday’s activities included a virtual presentation and conversation with Havard Grip of NASA JPL, He spoke about the challenges of piloting the Mars Ingenuity helicopter, a machine that uses commercial off-the-shelf sensors.

Other speakers addressed the future of sensor technology and the evolving use of sensors in sectors such as healthcare and oil and gas. Here’s a quick look at what when on Tuesday at the McEnery Convention Center, the in-person setting for this year’s hybrid event:

Wednesday’s sessions of note will include an opening keynote from Aditya Dayal, vice president of AI and sensors at View. His topic will be “Using Sensors and AI to Improve Human Health and Address Climate Change: One Smart Building at a Time.” A little later in the day, Dayal will sit down with Fierce Electronics editor and conference host Matt Hamblen for a live newsdesk interview.

Other sessions through the day will dig deep into topics such as AI and machine learning, diversity and inclusion, wireless, industrial IoT and more.
