Tech is behind much of what’s happened at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and there’s been so much electronics that it’s hard to keep track of it all.
Whether it is the inspired technology behind the Olympic flame or tracking technology to follow balls and arrows in flight or photo finishes in many races, the technologies often benefit from electronics circuits and systems behind various motion and image sensors.
Communications are also amazing, considering the way audiences around the world can track events online or through NBC, Peacock and other routes. Time-keeping and real-time processing and networking of events all have come into play.
In a couple of examples, Intel helped conceive a chatbot for athletes to use that relies on generative AI concepts. And tech helped the Olympic flame become a rising ring of light.
