NASA’s uncrewed Artemis I test mission around the moon will offer insights on how future missions will work to allow crewed flights to orbit and then land on the lunar surface.
NASA has been busy pumping out thousands of images of the Orion spacecraft, European Service Module and Space Launch System rocket since the successful Nov. 16 launch. Five days later, on Nov. 21, the spacecraft made it to the far side of the moon, just 81 miles above the surface.
This mission is expected to last shy of 26 days with a splashdown in the Pacific Ocean just off the coast of San Diego on Dec. 11.
In reverse order starting Nov. 21, here are photo highlights of the Artemis I mission as captured by NASA.
