Viavi Solutions Recognized for Three Unique Test and Measurement Solutions

MILPITAS, CA -- Viavi Solutions was recognized by the 2017 Lightwave Innovation Reviews for three network testing solutions: the T-BERD/MTS 5800-100G Handheld Network Tester, OSA-710 Optical Spectrum Analyzer technology, and the OneExpert DSL Modular Field Test Platform with G.fast.

Presented annually by Lightwave, the Lightwave Innovation Reviews program distinguishes top products and solutions available within the optical networking industry as determined by a panel of third-party judges.

T-BERD/MTS 5800-100G Handheld Network Tester

Awarded a score of 4.5 out of 5, the T-BERD/MTS 5800-100G Handheld Network Tester is described as: "Excellent and useful test equipment for network turn-up, capacity verification and trouble shooting. Handheld option provides extra flexibility in field use."

OSA-710 Optical Spectrum Analyzer

Judges awarded the OSA-710 Optical Spectrum Analyzer technology a score of 4.0 out of 5, noting: "Viavi's spectral correlation measurement method is truly innovative. It solves a very challenging problem: non-disruptive in-band measurement of OSNR in a modern ROADM-based coherent transmission system. This is a meaningful advancement to the optical measurement field and will be highly valuable to the network operators."

OneExpert DSL Modular Field Test Platform with G.fast

Awarding a score of 3.5 out of 5 to the OneExpert DSL Modular Field Test Platform with G.fast, judges commented: "This copper and DSL portable test set provides all of the capability and automation expected today, and is one of very few that extends to G.fast. What sets it apart is extendibility via optional external probes that allow it to perform coax testing, wire mapping, and optical power level tests, act as an optical fiber scope, and perform extensive Wi-Fi testing (basic Wi-Fi sweep capability is built-in)."
