The Magneto enters the market as a battery free RFID magnetometer tag capable of transmitting unique identifiers and relevant magnetic-field data to a commercial EPC C1G2 reader. The device features a LIS3MDL magnetometer from ST Microelectronics with a measurement range from ±4 gauss to ±16 gauss. It comes in a variety of antenna designs and sizes for 860 MHz to 960 MHz applications. Reading distance is approximately 1.5m (5 ft.) and Magneto is embeddable in a variety of materials like plastics or concrete. Evaluation kits are also available.
