Industrial Internet Consortium Extends Liaisons For IIoT

The Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC), the organization for accelerating the adoption of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), claims it has built 40 relationships with global liaisons. The liaisons include a wide range of organizations spanning standards development organizations (SDOs), open-source communities, technology- and industry-focused consortia and alliances, certification and testing bodies, regional organizations and government entities and agencies.

IIC collaborates closely with liaison partners in a variety of ways that include:

  • Technical exchange such as harmonization of IIoT architectures and exchange of use cases, best practices, results, technical reports and frameworks
  • Joint marketing activities
  • Joint workshops
  • Joint publications

The IIC has organized, co-sponsored or participated in numerous workshops worldwide aimed at advancing IIoT adoption. These have included events with oneM2M, the OSGi Alliance, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Industrial Value Chain Initiative (IVI), the Robot Revolution & Industrial IoT Initiative (RRI), CAICT, the Alliance of Industrial Internet (AII), the MulteFire Alliance, NEMA, Linux’s EdgeX project, Edge Computing Consortium (ECC) and an international standards workshop on big data.  The workshops enable the IIC and other organizations to collaborate through the exchange of information, so we can identify testbeds, whitepapers and other projects to work on in the future.
