GCT Semiconductor and Ecrio Integrate VoLTE into Chipset Solution

LAS VEGAS, NV - Ecrio Inc., the leading provider of 4G LTE real time communications client software for the mobile industry and GCT Semiconductor Inc., a leading designer and supplier of advanced 4G mobile semiconductor solutions, extend their partnership to integrate Ecrio FlexIMS based VoLTE on GCT's 4G LTE Chipsets.

GCT's LTE solution, GDM7243, combines RF and baseband to offer a highly integrated chip, optimized to ensure high performance and lower power consumption to increase battery life. GCT's chip delivers embedded VoLTE for devices such as smartphones, allowing ODMs to rapidly accelerate their VoLTE rollout.

Ecrio FlexIMS technology allows for the broadest coverage of real time communication end points (including smartphones, smartTVs, computers, CPE). It was designed to enable IMS services functions to be distributed between the Modem Processor and Application/Network Processors. RCS or Video Calling functions can now be incrementally integrated on an Application or Network Processor to add to VoLTE functionality implemented in the Modem Processor.

"By embedding VoLTE onto our LTE chipset, we have created a turnkey VoLTE solution that will accelerate time-to-market and allow for easier integration into mobile devices such as smartphones," said Alex Sum, vice president of sales and marketing at GCT Semiconductor, Inc. "We are pleased to be working with Ecrio and leverage their VoLTE expertise, to offer a solution with high performance, high integration and low power consumption."

"We are pleased with the broad industry adoption of our FlexIMS technology and proud to join GCT in announcing this significant milestone," said Michel Gannage, Ecrio Founder and Chief Executive Officer. "Ecrio is committed to supporting GCT in integrating functionality needed to further accelerate VoLTE and advanced services deployments."
