Edmund Optics Inc., Barrington, NJ, has extended its range of USB machine vision cameras to include Harsh Environment (HE) and Lite Edition (LE) versions. The cameras are available in 4 resolution and speed combinations, ranging from 752 by 480 pixel at 87 frames/s to 2560 by 1920 pixel at 6 frames/s. Lower-resolution cameras are available in monochrome or color versions while higher-resolution cameras are color only. The HE versions have a sealed rugged housing that also provides protection from EMI and that, used with optional lens tubes, meets IP65 and IP67 ratings. LE cameras have a durable plastic 41 by 41 by 25.4 mm housing and weigh 32 g.
