Triaxial Magnetic Sensors from MEMSIC

The MMC3316xMT tiny, 3-axis, AMR-based magnetic sensor family from MEMSIC Inc., Andover, MA, is suited for demanding mobile applications. The devices have a triaxial, ±16 Gauss F.S. measuring range, 14-bit operation, accuracies of ±2.0% F.S., 0.5% F.S. hysteresis, 0.5% F.S. repeatability on each axis, and insensitivity to external magnetic interference. The 2.0 by 2.0 by 1.0 mm devices consume 0.1 mA at 7 sps and incorporate onchip signal processing and integrated I²C 400 kHz FAST mode operation for direct connection to the system microprocessor. The sensor integration algorithm removes the effect of hard and soft iron interferences.
