Triaxial Magnetic Sensors from MEMSIC

MEMSIC Inc.

The MMC3316xMT tiny, 3-axis, AMR-based magnetic sensor family from MEMSIC Inc., Andover, MA, is suited for demanding mobile applications. The devices have a triaxial, ±16 Gauss F.S. measuring range, 14-bit operation, accuracies of ±2.0% F.S., 0.5% F.S. hysteresis, 0.5% F.S. repeatability on each axis, and insensitivity to external magnetic interference. The 2.0 by 2.0 by 1.0 mm devices consume 0.1 mA at 7 sps and incorporate onchip signal processing and integrated I2C 400 kHz FAST mode operation for direct connection to the system microprocessor. The sensor integration algorithm removes the effect of hard and soft iron interferences.
