Infinite Power Solutions Inc., Littleton, CO, offers its THINERGY family of solid-state, thin-film, rechargeable micro-energy storage devices. The 25.4 by 25.4 by 0.17 mm MEC101 and 25.4 by 12.7 by 0.17 mm MEC120 have capacity options up to 1.0 mAh and 0.4 mAh, respectively, continuous current of 40 mA and 15 mA, respectively, and have <1% charge loss/yr. and an operating temperature range from –40°C to 85°C. Cells can be stacked, deeply embedded, or laminated within PCBs or other materials and provide rapid recharge in seconds to minutes, depending on the state of charge. The all solid-state chemistry uses no liquid or polymer electrolyte. Devices accept charge even at charge currents of a few hundred nanoAmps.
