National Instruments

National Instruments, Austin, TX, offers LabVIEW 8.5 graphical system design platform for test, control, and embedded system development. The new version reduces the programming complexity associated with systems based on multicore and FPGA architectures. Parallel dataflow language lets engineers balance several measurement and control tasks between multiple processor cores. Other features include deterministic real-time multicore tools; machine monitoring functions; expanded OPC connectivity; a Real-Time Execute Trace Toolkit to display timing relationships between sections of code and individual threads; multichannel filtering and PID control algorithms; the FPGA Project Wizard; and a new statechart module.
