The PicoScope 9211A from Pico Technology Ltd., St. Neots, U.K., is a sampling oscilloscope designed for time-domain reflectometry (TDR) and time-domain transmission (TDT), allowing you to analyze cables, connectors, circuit boards, and IC packages. Connected to a Windows XP or Vista computer, the oscilloscope stimulates the device under test by using its two independently programmable 100 ps (typ.) rise-time step generators then uses its 12 GHz sampling inputs to build up a picture from a sequence of reflected or transmitted pulses. The results are displayed as volts, ohms, or reflection coefficient vs. time or distance. The device can also be used for mask limit testing of a variety of communications standards.
