The TA620 from Trust Automation Inc., San Luis Obispo, CA, is a single-axis spindle motor controller with a dual-processor architecture, designed for high-speed, high-accuracy motors from 0–30,000 rpm with position servo controls. The dual processor splits tasks between host communications and control algorithm processing. Features include 100 μs servo update rate; high acceleration/deceleration; trapezoidal, s-curve, velocity, and custom-move profiles; GUI and scripting language software; and setup and diagnostics via USB. You can store parameters for multiple applications in an onboard EEPROM. The controller is suited for use with semiconductor processing equipment and disk drive test systems.
