The 620 M8 inductive sensor from Contrinex Inc., Old Saybrook, CT, is 16 mm long and has a built-in amplifier. Features include an AISI 303 SS housing; IP67 rating; extended operating distance of 2 mm; max. switching speed of 3 kHz; LED operation indicator; and short-circuit, inverse polarity, and surge protection. Operating supply voltage is 10–30 VDC. The devices can switch an output current of 200 mA and can be flush mounted; sensing range is stable from –25°C to 70°C. Sensors can be embedded into machines and assembly fixtures where sensor access is restricted and larger devices won't fit.
