Meller Optics now offers sapphire in virtually any configuration and grade ranging from raw material to finished optics. Sapphire is available in all material grades from mechanical non-optical to defect-free optical and wavelength transmission products in all orientations with no lattice distortion, confirmed via X-ray. It is also available as blocks, lenses, carriers, wafers, windows, and domes in configurations and sizes from 0.5 in. to 5 in. O.D. ±0.00025 in. Featuring Moh 9 hardness, Meller Sapphire can be finished to 1/10th per wave flatness per inch, parallelism to 2 arc-sec, and surface finishes to 10-5 scratch-dig per MIL-PRF-13830, depending upon the material and configuration.
