ED Series magnetic rotary encoders from Measurement Specialties Inc., feature encapsulated electronics and the ability to decouple the rotating magnet side of the sensor from the electronics package. Resolution is from 64–1024 counts/rotation and operating temperature range is –55°C to 125°C. Outputs are 0–5 VDC, 0.5–4.5 VDC, 0–20 mA, or 4–20 mA. Offered in several standard configurations and as an adaptable platform for design engineers, the sensor is suited for use in positional feedback, control knobs, motor control, servo valve positioning, steering and throttle control, pump speed and direction, camera positioning, appliances, and medical and test equipment.
