The SL13A and SL900A sensor-enabled RFID tags from ams AG, Unterpremstaetten, Austria, are used for medical and automotive safety applications where temperature, physiological or environmental data is required. The SL13A is used with near-field communications (NFC-V) and HF RFID readers and the SL900A is EPC Gen 2 Class 3. Both models offer on-board temperature sensing and can operate in passive (batteryless) mode or powered by single-cell or 3 V battery. Power supply ranges are from 1.2 V to 3.6 V. Applications include patient monitoring, building control, and automotive safety.
