Melexis, Ieper, Belgium, offers the MLX90129 RFID sensor tag for cold chain management, industrial data logger, or medical monitoring device applications. The device embeds a sensor interface together with an internal temperature sensor to monitor environmental parameters, a 32 Kb data storage memory, an ISO/IEC15693 RFID tag front end, an SPI port, and an internal state machine to enable standalone operation. Features include ultra-low power consumption, the RFID interface to simplify the data collection, and the ability to extend capabilities by connecting external memory or a microcontroller via the SPI port.
