AUSTIN, TX /BUSINESS WIRE/ -- RF Code Inc., provider of wire-free adaptive asset management solutions that cut operating and capital expenses, announced it now provides easy integration of its wire-free environmental monitoring solution, Sensor Manager, with the IBM Tivoli Monitoring platform. The integration leverages RF Code's recently announced support for Sun's JMX monitoring standard.
In a related move, IBM recently certified RF Code's Tivoli Monitoring integration via the Ready for IBM Tivoli program.
With the introduction of the integration module, Tivoli Monitoring users can now take full advantage of real-time environmental information generated by the Sensor Manager solution, including temperature, humidity, door position, dry contact, and instant-on fluid detection.
RF Code will demonstrate the integration in its booth, #420, at Data Center World in Orlando. Also at the conference, Mitch Medford, RF Code CEO, will be speaking on "Automated Asset Awareness: The End of the Physical Asset Dilemma." His session is on Tuesday, October 6.
RF Code's Sensor Manager consists of wire-free sensors (based on active RFID technology) and monitoring software that generates customer configurable reports, alerts, thresholding, mapping, and more. This wire-free approach to environmental monitoring is an affordable, flexible alternative to traditional wired solutions, which are expensive to deploy, redeploy, or reconfigure.

About the Integration
RF Code has built a custom Tivoli monitoring agent, which uses RF Code's new Sensor Manager JMX support as the data source. All information collected from the wire-free sensors by RF Code's Sensor Manager is published to Tivoli Monitoring, which then uses the information in customized situations, policies, and actions. For example:
- Real-time temperature and humidity information can be proactively monitored via Tivoli Monitoring to identify environmental problems before a crisis develops.
- Immediate notification of the presence of water from instant wet/instant dry fluid sensors allows Tivoli Monitoring to notify administrators of dangerous water conditions beneath raised floors in the data center and in remote IT closets.
- Real-time door position information can be used by Tivoli Monitoring to notify administrators when critical assets are physically being accessed.
