TT electronics OPTEK Technology, Carrollton, TX, offers the OPB609 Series reflective object sensor with 3 different lead options. The device mounts an IR LED and NPN silicon phototransistor side-by-side on parallel axes. Designed to detect diffuse materials, the 940 nm IR LED has a 1.7 V max. forward voltage and 5 V reverse voltage. The sensor is available with axial, gull-wing, or right-angle lead configurations. Typical applications include assembly line and machine automation, machine safety, end-of-travel sensing, door sensing, and edge, paper jam, and mark detection.
