F1 rectangular inductive sensors from Pepperl+Fuchs Inc., Twinsburg, OH, are suited for detecting metallic objects in material handling or packaging applications. Available in DC or AC/DC models, the sensors have an IP67-rated rectangular housing, LED target-present indication, shielded sensing range of 4 mm (flush mount), unshielded range (DC models, nonflush mount) of 8 mm, switching frequency up to 1400 Hz, and are rated for 10–30 VDC with 3- and 4-wire outputs. Sensors are protected against short circuit and overload and tolerate reverse polarity.
