ADLINK Technology Inc., Taipei, Taiwan, offers the DPAC-1000 distributed programmable automation controller designed for remote DA systems with standard RS-232 or RS-485 communication ports. The controller collects data from digital sensors and analog I/O modules and enables direct remote DA through NuDAM modules. The modules convert I/O signals to engineering units and transmit/receive in ASCII format to/from any host computer with an RS-232 or RS-485 port. The DPAC-1000 provides a 10–30 VDC input range and features a front control panel for system integrators to design their own user control interface. Applications include water monitoring, UPS monitoring in fabrication facilities, and boiler leakage detection.
