PixArt Adopts BDA’s Analog FastSPICE Platform

SANTA CLARA, CA /BUSINESS WIRE/ -- Berkeley Design Automation Inc. (BDA), a provider of the "world's fastest nanometer circuit verification," announced that PixArt Imaging Inc. (PixArt), a leading advanced digital imaging IC design company, has selected the company's Analog FastSPICE (AFS) platform for block-level characterization, full-circuit verification, and device noise analysis of their image sensor designs.

"Our unique image sensing technologies have stringent circuit verification requirements to achieve low cost, low voltage, small dimensions, and outstanding quality," said Ian Wang, Department Manager, Design Supporting Department, PixArt Imaging. "We selected the AFS platform because it provides the accuracy and performance we require. For our key circuits, AFS delivers nanometer SPICE accuracy five times faster than traditional SPICE, and AFS Transient Noise has excellent correlation to silicon measurements."

"The Analog FastSPICE platform provides the world's fastest circuit verification for nanometer analog, RF, mixed-signal, memory, and custom digital circuits." Foundry-certified to 20 nm, the AFS platform delivers nanometer SPICE accuracy 5 to 10 times faster than traditional SPICE and two to six times faster than parallel SPICE simulators. For large circuits, the AFS Platform delivers >10M-element capacity and the fastest mixed-signal simulation. For memory and other array-based circuits, AFS Mega delivers silicon-accurate simulation with >100M element capacity. For silicon-accurate characterization, it includes the industry's only comprehensive full-spectrum device noise analysis and a high-productivity Analog Characterization Environment (ACE) —both of which deliver 5 to 10 times speedup over alternative approaches. Available licenses for the AFS platform include AFS Circuit Simulator, AFS Mega, AFS Nano, AFS Transient Noise Analysis, AFS RF Analyses, AFS Co-Simulation, AFS AMS, and ACE.

"We are delighted that PixArt has adopted the AFS platform for verification of their advanced digital imaging solutions," said Ravi Subramanian, President and CEO of Berkeley Design Automation. "Designing low-cost, low-voltage, small-dimension image sensors is a tremendous challenge, and PixArt's selection further validates the indispensable value Berkeley Design Automation brings to leading companies designing digital imaging solutions."
