The 4M Series of piezoelectric CrystalFree MEMS oscillators from Integrated Device Technology (IDT) Inc., San Jose, CA, are suited for use in high-performance communications, consumer, cloud, and industrial applications. The devices operate with ±50 ppm frequency accuracy over an operating temperature range of –40°C to 85°C, have <1 ps of jitter, and support low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) and low-voltage positive emitter-coupled logic (LVPECL) at frequencies up to 625 MHz. The company can factory-program the desired output frequency without the need to fine-tune expensive crystals. The devices are pin-compatible with traditional XOs and are offered in 7.0 by 5.0 mm (7050) and 5.0 by 3.2 mm (5032) sizes.
