Series 0507 miniature rectangular sensors from Contrinex Inc., Old Saybrook, CT, use a narrowly focused light beam to detect objects through holes and gaps and closely lined up or laterally approaching objects. The sensors are 5 by 7 by 40 mm with a spherical scratch-resistant sapphire lens to project a virtually cylindrical light beam with a dia. <4 mm. Features include short-circuit protection, supply voltage of 10–30 VDC, output current up to 100 mA, and IP67 rating.
