The CONTROLweb open control platform from
MKS Instruments Inc., Wilmington, MA, uses an Ethernet backbone to let you build modular control architectures for industrial automation. The configurable modules include RMU Linux logic controllers and MicroNode and MacroNode intelligent Ethernet I/O units. The RMU controller features a 32-bit PowerPC processor; Linux OS; dual Ethernet ports; USB, serial, and CAN ports; and selectable configurations of up to 96 digital I/O and up to 32/16 analog I/O. MicroNode and MacroNode modules use the cLogic control engine to embed custom logic within the modules, providing real-time intelligent responses to remote critical signals.
