The MPU-6500 from InvenSense Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, is a single-chip device that integrates a triaxial accelerometer, triaxial gyroscope, and onboard Digital Motion Processor in a 3 by 3 by 0.9 mm QFN package. Intended for motion tracking in smartphones, tables, wearable sensors, and other consumer markets, the sensor operates at 1.8 V and consumes 6.1 mW in full operating mode. Gyro performance includes ±5°/s zero-rate-output and 0.01°/s/√Hz of noise and accelerometer specifications include offset of ±60 mg, 250 µg/√Hz of noise, and 18 µA consumption in low-power mode. The software drivers are fully compliant with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
