The iNEMO Engine from STMicroelectronics, Geneva, Switzerland, is an advanced filtering and predictive software engine that integrates the outputs from a triaxial accelerometer, triaxial gyroscope, and triaxial magnetometer and fuses them to provide more accurate and reliable sensor performance. The software takes the data from the various motion sensors in smart consumer devices and integrates it so that the sensor outputs augment each other; it can correct for magnetic distortions registered on the magnetometer, dynamic distortion measured by the accelerometer, and inherent drift over time of the gyroscope. Applications include location-based services, enhanced motion-based gaming, pedestrian dead-reckoning, robotics, or human-body tracking.
