The R28i from RENCO Encoders Inc., Goleta, CA, is a modular encoder suited for size 11 step motor applications. The encoder, in a 28 mm package, is self-aligning and self-gapping and requires no special tool for installation. The custom opto-ASIC provides a range of available resolutions. The encoder can accommodate motor shafts up to 7 mm for use in brush motor, step motor, and lead-screw applications.
