SA1E-X miniature photoelectric sensors from IDEC Corp., Sunnyvale, CA, detect transparent or translucent objects and have a 500 µs response speed. Able to detect objects with irregular surfaces and remain unaffected by the angle, inclination, or shaking of the target object, the sensors feature a coaxial optic and narrow beam, can detect objects as far away as 2 m, and are available with a choice of npn or pnp outputs and Dark ON or Light ON operation. Sensors are IP67-rated, UL/c-UL listed, and CE marked. Applications include sensing plastic, glass, or other transparent bottles; transparent film for packaging; and wafer displacement.
