MEMS Motion Sensor from Analog Devices

Analog Devices Inc.

The ADXL346 from Analog Devices Inc., Norwood, MA, is a triaxial MEMS accelerometer for measuring tilt, shock, and acceleration. Features include 4 mg/LSB resolution, selectable bandwidth from 0.1–1600 Hz, power consumption from <150µA at 1600 Hz to 25 µA under 10 Hz, ±2 g/±4 g/±8 g/±16 g user-selectable measurement ranges for dynamic acceleration, built-in orientation sensing via simple register reads, ability to measure inclination changes as small as 0.25°, I2C and 3- and 4-wire SPI interfaces, and several special sensing functions (activity, inactivity, tap, and free-fall sensing) programmed onchip along with user-programmable threshold levels.
