The RedRock RS-A-2515 magnetic reed switch from Coto Technology Inc., North Kingstown, RI, is a MEMS-based device with zero-power operation, high-power hot switching, item-to-item uniformity, robustness, and a 1.01 by 2.08 mm footprint. Closure sensitivity ranges are from 5–25 mT for operation up to 20 mm using a small NdFeB magnet, release sensitivity is ~60% of closure sensitivity, and max. switching voltage is 100 VDC with a switching current of 50 mA DC or 35 mA AC, RMS.
