Microchip Technology Inc., Chandler, AZ, has added integrated USB 2.0 On-the-Go (OTG) functionality to its 32-bit PIC32 microcontrollers. Max. operating frequency for the microcontrollers has also been increased to 80 MHz. The microcontrollers can operate as devices or as hosts and can auto-negotiate which will be the USB host or device when encountering another OTG product. The devices also include a USB OTG PHY. Embedded applications include industrial, medical, automotive, communication, appliance, and consumer products.
