The ADXL362 from Analog Devices Inc., Norwood, MA, is a triaxial MEMS accelerometer that draws 300 nA in motion sensing wake-up mode and 2 µA at a 100 Hz data rate. The device provides acceleration data with 12-bit resolution as well as 8-bit formatted data; has ±2 g, ±4 g, and ±8 g measurement ranges; and has resolution of 1 mg/LSB (±2 g range). Features include a built-in micropower temperature sensor; the ability to synchronize sampling time to an external trigger; an Awake Status output pin that lets the sensor instantly trigger a switch to turn on system functions, bypassing the processor; an enhanced sample activity detection function; and an internal FIFO.
