The CPIC2.0 from e2v technologies plc., Chelmsford, U.K., is an ultra-low-power capacitive sensor interface platform IC with 30 aF resolution. The CPIC2.0 analog front end can work with transducers with a base capacitance from 1–32 pF and has a noise level of 30 aF. Its dual capacitor input enables several configurations. Additional features include a temperature sensor and an EEPROM for storage of calibration parameters and for temperature and pressure compensation, and an SPI/TWI microcontroller interface. The chip can be used for static and dynamic applications.
