The Endevco Model 2228C from Meggitt Sensing Systems, San Juan Capistrano, CA, is a rugged low-mass triaxial piezoelectric accelerometer suited for a variety of general vibration-testing requirements. Features include 2.8 pC/g sensitivity, total package weight of 15 g, and an operating temperature range of –55°C to 177°C. The self-generating device requires no external power source for operation and its 10-32 receptacles allow data collection from three separate output connections; the connections also provide a visual reference for the axes being measured. Applications include R&D, metrology, wireless equipment, space shuttle and solid rocket booster electronics assemblies, helicopter engines, combustion turbines, and vacuum pumps.
