Low-Force Load Cell from Measurement Specialties

FS20 Series load cells from Measurement Specialties, Hampton, VA, are designed for low-force applications, such as pumps, contact sensing, and variable force control and are offered in compression ranges from 750–1500 g. Output is 1–4 V F.S. with ±1% F.S. (combined linearity, hysteresis, and nonrepeatability). Overrange limit is 10 lbf. The sensor measures direct force, is not subject to lead-wire fatigue, and is insensitive to small angle or positional variations relative to the replaceable isolation diaphragm. Micromachined silicon piezoresistive strain gauges are fused with high-temperature glass to a high-performance SS flexure to create the sensing element.
