The EZ-COMPASS-3AL from Advanced Orientation Systems Inc. (AOSI), Linden, NJ, combines a 3-axis magnetometer with tilt and temperature compensation with a high-capacity onboard memory with storage for up to 20,000 readings. The 1.5 by 2.0 by 0.5 in. module weighs ~11 g and generates heading, pitch, roll, magnetic field, and temperature readings, transmitting them to a PC via RS-232 or RS-422 ports. Features include measurement range of ±90 arc-degrees with tilt compensation, solid-state components, and hard and soft iron calibrations. Applications include marine and land navigation, vehicle and structure positioning, construction, and antenna and satellite tracking.
