LNB Regulators Expand Control And Diagnostics
Allegro MicroSystems, LLC

Allegro MicroSystems expands its portfolio of low noise block regulators (LNBRs) with “Generation 5” A8300 and A8300-1 integrated linear and switching voltage regulators. Providing power and interface signals to an LNB down-converter via coaxial cable, the A8300 is accommodates low-profile ceramic boost capacitors while the A8300-1 works with lower cost electrolytic capacitors. For DiSEqC communication, both devices integrate a 22-kHz tone that gates to a control pin or can accept an external 22-kHz through this same pin. Additionally, both integrate tone detection for full two-way DiSEqC communications as well as gate drive for the filter bypass FET. The A8300SESTR-T² and A8300SESTR-1-T² come in 24-contact, 4 mm x 4 mm, lead-free QFN packages. Price for either is $1.30 each/1,000.
