PRX+1660 Series liquid level sensors from Hermetic Switch Inc., Chickasha, OK, are reed-switch-based float sensors that can be used to monitor liquid level in appliance, automotive, industrial, municipal, recreational, and power generation markets. The devices require no power to function. A permanent magnet is integrated into the device, allowing it to be used in extreme and/or remote environments for extended periods. Operating distance is 0.177–0.728 in., rated power is 10 W, and initial resistance is 0.30 ohm. Sensors can be used with brake fluid, contained water, dilute acid, gasoline, oil, and any process liquid compatible with polyamide or polypropylene.
