LIDA 200 encoders from
Heidenhain Corp., Schaumburg, IL, have a 200 µm grating period for analog systems and 5, 1, and 0.5 µm signal periods for digital systems. Encoders mount via a scale tape supplied in rolls with reference marks. You cut the tape to the desired length and secure it to the mounting surface with its adhesive film. Alternatively, you can mount it using a scale tape carrier extrusion. The encoders operate at 10 m/s and resist contamination.
