LG launches its most sensational TV viewing experience yet in Canada: The LG 4K OLED

TORONTO - LG Electronics Canada (LG) has expanded its Canadian OLED offering with the introduction of its revolutionary 65-inch and 55-inch 4K OLED TVs (Models 65EG9600 and 55EG9200), which display images at quadruple the resolution of Full HD 1080p televisions. A new 55-inch HD OLED (Model 55EG9100) has also been released.

LG Electronics' industry leading OLED display technology takes at-home viewing to the next level, producing vivid colours and the blackest blacks to create an incredibly realistic image.

"LG is committed to providing Canadian consumers the ultimate viewing experience in the comfort of their own homes," said Abraham Cherian, Senior Brand Manager, LG Electronics Canada. "This OLED expansion speaks to LG's focus on innovation and 4K OLED televisions boast the best display technology available on the market today. For all those Canadians who crave a state-of-the-art home viewing experience, OLED displays are so unbelievably realistic, you feel like you're part of the scene. There's nothing like it."

The OLED Difference

LG's OLED panel features a gentle curve. This ensures superior image quality no matter your viewing angle in the room. The panel is made up of 33 million sub pixels that produce the most lifelike colours and infinite contrast ratio. This produces richer, more natural hues and creates the deepest blacks. Additionally the OLED's incredibly fast response rate means the TV renders motion flawlessly with no flickering or blurring.

"When you look at the image on an 4K OLED screen, you're actually viewing an image made up of pixels – 33 million sub pixels to be exact," said Cherian. "The image is so crisp - there is no bleed between the bright white of the moon, for example, and the black of the night sky. The reason for this is that each of those pixels is like a tiny bulb. If the bulb is off – it's black. If it's on, it's a bright, vivid colour. This makes OLED a totally different technology than traditional HD LED TVs."

All three new OLED models feature webOS 2.0, the latest iteration of LG's proprietary smart TV platform. With its enhanced user interface and advanced features, webOS 2.0 makes navigating a smart TV simpler, easier and more intuitive. webOS 2.0 also reduces boot time and allows users to personalize the menus, making it easier than ever for users to access their favourite content. In addition, LG's 2015 OLED TVs feature speakers developed in partnership with audio leader Harman/Kardon to ensure that the flawless OLED images will be accompanied by sound quality that is second to none.

The 65-inch 4K OLED (MSRP $7999.99), the 55-inch 4K OLED (MSRP $4499.99) and the 55-inch HD OLED (MSRP $3499.99) are now available at leading retailers nationwide, marking a revolution in Canadian home entertainment.
