The BVS vision sensor from Balluff Inc., Florence, KY, has built-in IR lighting and an integrated daylight filter to address changing ambient lighting conditions. The vision sensor features a 10% higher light intensity than comparable red light sensors and the IR light does not bother employees and is safe for the eyes, certified for CE (EN 62471:2008). The BVS standard vision sensor is PC-configurable; the BVS advanced vision sensor has a 360° geometric pattern match tool with configurable Boolean logic outputs; and the BVS identification sensor identifies 1D barcodes and 2D data matrix codes to 0.10 mm module resolution. The sensor is simple to install since it has fixed integrated lighting, optics, and filter.
