Basler Vision Technologies, Ahrensburg, Germany, offers four scout camera models based on Sony's ICX618 sensor. Cameras have a compact 29 by 44 by 73.7 mm housing, a C- or CS-mount lens adapter, and are available in monochrome or color and with a GigE or IEEE 1394b interface. Frame rate is 120 frames/s at full VGA resolution. You can operate the cameras via the company's pylon driver software, which provides reliable image data transport from the camera to PC memory at the lowest possible CPU load. Applications include factory automation, semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, security, and intelligent traffic systems.
