Invensys Operations Management, Foxboro, MA, has teamed with Byres Security Inc. and MTL Instruments to provide the Triconex Tofino Firewall for OPC that protects integrated applications based on OPC Classic. As part of Invensys's Triconex safety products line, the firewall manages the traffic to and from the Triconex Tricon communications module (TCM) and protects against malicious threats and other threats to network operations. Deployed in front of the Triconex OPC server, the firewall mitigates risks related to previously published DCOM vulnerabilities and provides packet management and rate limiting to prevent network traffic problems.
