The Model 2657A high-power system SourceMeter from Keithely Instruments Inc., Cleveland, OH, combines the functionality of a semiconductor characterization instrument, precision power supply, true current source, 6-1/2-digit DMM, arbitrary waveform generator, voltage or current pulse generator, electronic load, and trigger controller. The device can source or sink up to 180 W of DC power and has 1 fA resolution. Suited for testing power semiconductor devices such as diodes, FETs, and IGBTs and for characterizing materials such as GaN, SiC, and other compound semiconductor materials and devices, the instrument can also be used to characterize high-speed transients and to perform breakdown and leakage tests on a variety of electronic devices at up to 3000 V.
