AssetOverseer SS Series ultra low power triaxial accelerometers from Sporian Microsystems Inc., Lafayette, CO, are designed for high G inertial shock applications. The devices have dynamic G force ranges of ±200 G, ±500 G, and ±1000 G; a 2–2000 Hz frequency response; 2–5 VDC operating range; and supply current <15 µA. Sensors provide buffered voltage signals for each coordinate axis that require no external amplification. Applications include automation and process control, test and measurement, asset health monitoring, automotive crash impacts, aircraft landing impacts, railcar coupling impacts, wireless sensor networks, and data logging.
