The PRECISE pressure sensor from Presens AS, Oslo, Norway, has a F.S. range up from 0–2000 bar, total accuracy of <±0.01% F.S., and 1 year drift of <±0.01% F.S. Overpressure is 1.5 to 5 times F.S., sample rate is adjustable from 5–25 samples/s, and resolution is 20 bit. The sensor uses a piezoresistive Wheatstone bridge integrated in a tubular silicon structure to achieve mechanical decoupling of the sensing area to eliminate mounting stress error, confer tolerance to overpressure and pressure spikes, and enable measurement of pressure and temperature simultaneously on the same resistor bridge.
