Gladiator Unveils New LandMark 50 Gyro

SNOQUALMIE, WA /PRNewswire/ -- Gladiator Technologies announced the next release of its high-performance LandMark 50 product family, the LandMark 50 Vertical Gyro (VG). This new VG builds upon the successful heritage of the company's low-noise LandMark VG product families, including the LandMark 10, 20, 21, 22, 30, and 40. The VG is form, fit, and function interchangeable with the LandMark 30 VG, yet offers substantial improvement in performance, using their newest high-performance MEMS gyros and accelerometers.

All the LandMark VG's use only gyros and accelerometers to accurately calculate pitch and roll angles, with no other sensor inputs required. The unit also can accommodate a wide input power range from 6 V to 36 V. All our VG's share a common VG messaging protocol for a "common cockpit" approach, giving users the option to choose the VG performance, size, weight, and price that best suits their application without having to rewrite any VG interface software. This latest addition to our family of VG's offers exceptional pitch and roll angle output accuracy, as well as ultra-low noise and bias while including the other feature-rich advantages of its predecessor VG's. The LandMark 50 features robust environmental sealing for EMI protection, as well as user selectable RS-485 data rates of 100 Hz (4 KHz internal sampling rate). The LandMark 50 VG has many advanced performance features, including:

  • Pitch and roll angles ±0.25° typical
  • Wide input voltage range 6 V to 36 V
  • Low gyro noise 0.001°/s/√Hz (0.042&deg√hr)
  • Low accel noise 0.025 mg√Hz
  • In-run gyro bias 1°/hr 1 σ
  • Fully temperature compensated bias and scale factor
  • Misalignment 1 mrad and g-sensitivity <0.002°/s/g 1 σ
  • External sync input (1 kHz or 1 pps)
  • Export U.S. Commerce ECCN7A994
  • Link to datasheet, data & images

Gladiator's CEO, Mark Chamberlain, stated, "Gladiator Technologies has produced a long pedigree of vertical gyros for many applications, and we are excited to now offer an exceptional MEMS-based high-performance product in the new LandMark 50 VG."
